PROGRAM LENGTH: Two years (typically 4 regular semesters of full-time attendance) beginning in June only (Summer Session I)
WHEN TO APPLY: By second Friday in February (see Step 3)
ADMISSIONS: Selective; requires completion of SERP 444A: Intensive ASL and interview with director (see Step 3)
CLASS SCHEDULE: Classes meet 2 days per week on campus (daytime) and 2 days per week in local Tucson school classrooms during school hours (daytime) to complete practicum -- beginning with practicing ASL interpreting with a peer and finishing with interpreting for a deaf or hard-of-hearing student
DEGREE OFFERED: Bachelor of Science in Deaf Studies; upon passing the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) exam, the student will earn certification
CAREERS: Educational interpreting with opportunities for medical, legal, or arts interpreting with additional experience

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES: Federal grant funding available to students who agree to, and complete, a work obligation of one year interpreting in public schools anywhere in the United States for each semester of accepted grant funding
